Privacy policy

This site is a private, invite-only maintenance tracker for the residents of Lake View Cabanas. It is operated by the Lake View Cabanas Body Corporate. This page explains what information we hold about you, why we hold it, and who can see it.
This site does not take payments and does not have a payment page. We will never ask you for your card number, bank account details, PIN, or online banking password, either on this site or in an email that appears to come from it. If anything claiming to be this site asks you for those, it is not us. Please report it to support@calibradev.xyz.
What we collect
- Your name and email address. A trustee adds these when they invite you. Your email address is how you sign in.
- Your password. You choose it yourself. It is handled by Google Firebase Authentication and stored in hashed form. Nobody at Lake View Cabanas, including the trustees, can see or retrieve your password.
- Your unit number or numbers, so a snag can be linked to the right part of the complex.
- The snags you report: the title, category, location, description, any photos you upload, and any comments you post.
Why we hold it
Solely to run the complex's maintenance process: so trustees know who reported a snag, who it is assigned to, and who has commented on it, and so we can contact you about it. We do not use your information for marketing, we do not profile you, and we do not sell or share it with anyone for advertising.
Who can see it
- Trustees can see all snags and the member list.
- Residents can see the snags board and the names attached to snags and comments.
- Contractors can see only the snags assigned to them, and nothing else.
Access is enforced on the server by Firebase security rules, not just hidden in the app. If you are not on the member list, you cannot read any of this data.
Where it is stored
Snag records are stored in Google Cloud Firestore and photos in Google Cloud Storage, both part of Google Firebase. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication. All traffic to and from this site is encrypted with HTTPS.
Cookies and tracking
We use no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics or tracking. Firebase Authentication stores a token in your browser so that you stay signed in between visits. That is the only thing we keep on your device, and it exists purely to keep you logged in.
How long we keep it
Snags and their comments are kept as a maintenance record for the complex. If you leave Lake View Cabanas, a trustee can deactivate or remove your member record, which immediately ends your access.
Your rights
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@calibradev.xyz and we will respond.
